A one-stop-shop on the go, Amazon Tatkal will enable SMBs in Rajkot to get online and sell on Amazon.in in less than 60 minutes.

Amazon Tatkal is a specially designed studio-on-wheels offering a suite of launch services including registration, imaging and cataloguing services, as well as basic seller training mechanisms. It assists thousands of interested sellers to start selling on Amazon.in in real time and experience the benefits of launching an online business. Since its launch in February earlier last year, Amazon Tatkal has travelled close to 50,000 kilometers covering close to 150 cities across India.

Amazon Tatkal will be stationed at Market Yard & Amin Marg on Tuesday, February 14, Sojitra Market & Tagore Road on Wednesday, February 15 and Padak Road & Sangawana Chowk on Thursday, February 16. Rajkot-based sellers will now be able to sell local offerings like their popular zari products, apparels, home furnishing, handicrafts and jewelry etc. through Amazon.in within 60 minutes. As part of the initiative, Amazon Tatkal will traverse to various parts of the country this year, engaging with thousands of entrepreneurs, artisans, manufacturers and sellers and help them sell online on the spot.

In addition to onboarding sellers within an hour, Amazon India will also enhance seller experience through a training program that will help them manage their online business on Amazon.in. The training program is aimed to ease the transition of sellers into the world of online ecommerce and encourage them to experience the benefits of launching an online business. A special team of trainers from Amazon India will visit the sellers the next day who come onboard to ensure continued guidance and support in navigating the online selling space. These trainers will assist sellers with performance management, order management, in addition to overall account management like listing of products, handling price changes etc.

Talking about the concept, Gopal Pillai, Director & GM, Seller Services, Amazon India said “We believe in working backwards from seller needs and innovating on behalf of our sellers. This approach helps us to power their growth as they explore online ecommerce and benefit from the digital economy. Our conversations with hundreds of SMBs reveal that there is a high level of interest among them to get online and start selling, but they are unable to overcome perception barriers of the process being time consuming, tedious and complex. As a result many interested sellers tend to put off onboarding tasks. As always, we worked backwards from seller needs and conceptualized Amazon Tatkal. We believe this initiative will help sellers to overcome these constraints, get them onboard, and start selling on the Amazon platform with speed and ease. We hope to enhance the seller onboarding experience and provide continued assistance to sellers who join us through our training program.”

With its leading initiatives like Seller University that trains and nurture sellers, fulfilment and assisted shipping service via Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), Seller Flex and Easy Ship to providing comprehensive financial solutions to sellers, Amazon.in has rolled out several such initiatives and has been working extensively to meet different business requirements of sellers and small entrepreneurs and help them grow their business profitably online.

Customers on Amazon benefit from a safe and secure ordering experience, convenient electronic payments, Pay on Delivery, Amazon’s 24x7 customer service support, and a globally recognized and comprehensive 100% purchase protection provided by Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee.
