Showcase your products: There are a few things you need to consider, listed as follows:

Since the buyers cannot touch the items, they will seek for every information possible and verify when they receive the package. So correct and detailed product descriptions are important. Information includes - price, colour, colour varieties/options, measurements, materials, etc.

d) Highlight the out-of-stock items or keep the option of excluding the out-of-stock product from the search results.

Include search function: For every online seller portal or website, the presence of a text search option is a mandate. It should be user-friendly with result suggestions after the user has typed the first few characters so he/she gets to type less. There should be a proper filter and sorting option for more user convenience.

Design the shopping Cart: All product pages must have “Add to Cart” button distinctly highlighted and also give an indication that the product has been added to the cart. The 'Shopping Cart' page or the 'Checkout' page should be informative. It should include the product information that has been added, the price, taxes, fees and the total amount should be clearly mentioned. Related products or products that other customers buy with the said selected product should also be highlighted. At the end of the page, there should be a 'Continue Shopping' option. Try to keep a simple, single checkout page.

Add payment gateway systems: It is ideal to offer a wide range of payment options for user convenience. In India Cash on Delivery (COD) is highly preferred.

Add guest checkout option: First timers most often prefer a guest checkout rather than signing up. Once you have won their trust they will most probably sign up.

Acquire SSL certificate: Getting an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate assures safe online transactions and data storage, secured from hackers.

Provide all information about your company: Ideally, there should be an 'About Us' page with your mission and vision.

Add FAQ page and Policies page: It is ideal to let your buyers know about everything, about Shipping, Returns, Exchange and Refund policies.

Add contact support facilities: Since-commerce is a 24x7 business, customers would want to reach to support anytime; you should have contact forms, live chats, and service helplines for improving the customers’ experience with your venture.
