Amazon Business Launches Business-to-Business Global Selling for Indian Exporters

Exporters from India can now serve procurement needs of business customers across Amazon’s global marketplaces
Bangalore, April 3, 2018: Amazon Business today announced the expansion of its Global Selling program by launching B2B selling for Indian exporters. Through this launch, B2B sellers, manufacturers and exporters will be able to reach thousands of business customers across Amazon’s international marketplaces. Started as a pilot late last year, the program has received a positive response with over 2000 exporters registered for B2B global selling at present. Amazon’s B2B Global Selling program is present in US, UK, Germany, France, Japan and India. Once the sellers register for the individual marketplaces, they will then be able to export to the Amazon global marketplaces mentioned.

Indian B2B product exporters on Amazon can now offer a range of products across popular categories such as office products, home, PCs, business, industrial & scientific supplies (BISS) and more. Ranging from sole proprietors to the largest of Fortune 500 enterprises, Indian exporters registered with Amazon Business Global Selling program are able to directly reach out to Amazon’s global business customer base and thus get an opportunity to venture into newer market segments. The program enables features such as business-only pricing and back-end integration that helps exporters manage competitive pricing internationally and assists in managing and fulfilling bulk orders from business customers.

Amazon’s First Annual Exports Digest Show Global Exports from Amazon Sellers up by 224%

Indore, Surat, Ahmedabad, Ghaziabad, Pune emerged as the leading non-metro cities with most international exporters

Delhi, March 14, 2018: Indian exporters on Amazon saw a massive 224% growth in their global exports business in 2017. Amazon's international marketplace saw a staggering rise of 500% in Indian products offered globally and 310% growth in Indian exporters using Amazon Global Fulfilment channel. Amazon Exports Digest 2017 was launched today at a joint event organized with FICCI on ‘Going Global through E-commerce Marketplace’, in the presence of Ms. Rita Teaotia, IAS, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Mr. Radha Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, Government of India. In its first edition, the Amazon Exports Digest 2017 insights reveal phenomenal increase in demand for Indian products abroad, growth of Indian exporters selling globally, and most popular product categories offered by Indian exporters abroad.

Amazon Exports Digest 2017 also features top Indian states & cities with international exporters and most popular product categories abroad. With exporters from 2047 pin-codes across India, Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leading states with most international exporters on Amazon. Home Décor, Tapestries, Home & Kitchen Linens, Dinnerware & Copper mugs, Ethnic wear and Women’s apparel witnessed a huge demand from international customers across ethnicities.

Year 2017 has been a milestone for the Amazon Global Selling program in India which has expanded exponentially with various partnerships with Government organizations and iconic India brands going global. Iconic Indian brands like Amul, Titan, Dabur and State Handlooms Bodies such as Tantuja and Jharcraft, have been launched globally along with over 32000 global exporters from India.

FICCI in partnership with Amazon to conduct workshop for Leather Exporters in Kolkata for Global Selling

To conduct training events and workshops across the country to help exporters sell on 10 International marketplaces via Amazon Global Selling
Kolkata, March 8, 2018: In line with the vision of transforming the way India buys & sells, Amazon recently announced the partnership with FICCI to enable Indian exporters sell globally. In this context various training events and workshops across the country is organised to support the growth of Indian sellers in the emerging digital economy. Through these events, FICCI and Amazon aim to educate exporters and manufacturers on B2C exports via the e-commerce route and enable them to sell across 10 international marketplaces through Amazon Global Selling.

FICCI in partnership with Amazon is organising a workshop on going global through E-commerce Marketplace for B2C Leather Product Manufacturers, Exporters, Retailers and Online sellers.The workshop is being held in association with Council for Leather Exports on March 9, 2018, Kolkata at Park Hotel. Council for Leather Exports is the single largest and Apex export promotion organisation of the strong and rapidly growing Indian leather and leather products industry with a member base of over 3500. Under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, CLE caters to the needs of the leather exporters and serves as a connecting bridge between Indian leather exporters and buyers all over the world.

West Bengal is one of the leading states for export of finished leather goods and there is a significant opportunity to explore E-market platform to promote global reach.West Bengal is experiencing a healthy growth in the leather sector as it accounts for 54% of leather goods produced in India and is the second most important tanning centre in the country. Workshop to help apparel exporters in Tirupur sell on 10 international marketplaces via Amazon Global Selling
Tirupur, February 9, 2018: As part of its partnership with FICCI-CMSME (Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Amazon has announced that it will conduct a workshop for apparel exporters in Tirupur tomorrow. The workshop will focus on Amazon’s Global Selling Program that enables easy, simple and convenient access for all Indian sellers - including entrepreneurs, SMEs, manufacturers, artisans and brands - to sell their products to consumers across the globe.

The textile industry is the second largest employment generating sector and at present employing 80 million people in the country, according to various studies. As per reports, Tirupur, the Knitwear Capital of India employs over six lakh people and its export turnover is expected to rise to turnover of ₹1 lakh crore by 2020. Through this workshop, Amazon and FICCI-CMSME aimed to educate the exporters of country’s largest textile hubs on the global opportunity, brand building, documentation, listing methodology and Amazon services such as Fulfilment by Amazon & Sponsored Ads.

To enable FIEO members to sell directly on 10 international marketplaces through Amazon’s Global Selling Program
