Amazon, Govt of Punjab and FIEO come together to promote eCommerce Exports

Chandigarh, 07 August, 2020: To enable micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Punjab to sell their products globally, Amazon, Government of Punjab and Federation of Indian Exports Organization (FIEO) jointly conducted a webinar on ‘Taking Local Products Global through e-commerce’. The webinar focused on providing knowledge and training to MSMEs in Punjab and help them get started on B2C e-commerce exports. The 90-minute discussion was moderated by K.S. Brar and Tushar Tulsian, Members of MSME Marketing Cell, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab. As part of the discussion, Amazon experts shared an overview of the Amazon Global Selling program. MSMEs from Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur participated in the webinar.

At the launch, Amazon announced that cumulative exports through Indian sellers on the Amazon Global Selling program have crossed the $2 billion milestone. In January 2020, Amazon had pledged to enable $10 billion in cumulative exports by 2025 helping Indian businesses grow by selling online worldwide.

Amazon Global Selling today enables more than 60,000 Indian exporters to sell millions of ‘Made in India’ products to customers worldwide through its 15 international websites in countries such as USA, UK, UAE, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, Australia and Singapore. In 2019, more than 800 Indian MSMEs on the program surpassed $131, 375 (INR 1 crore) in e-commerce exports sales.

Highlights of Exports Digest 2020 The just published third edition of Amazon’s annual Exports Digest provides insights into the success and scale of exports from India through the Amazon Global Selling program, reflecting a significant increase in demand for Indian products across global markets and the growth of Indian exporters selling globally. Udaipur, February 06, 2020: Amazon India today announced that it will conduct a training workshop in Udaipur to familiarize micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) about its Global Selling program. This program is designed to help MSMEs to come on board and sell internationally from India through Amazon’s e-commerce websites across the world. The workshop will be held on 7th Feb, 2020 at the Radisson Udaipur. Through this event, MSMEs can learn more about B2C exports via e-commerce and sell across Amazon’s 13 international marketplaces to millions of customers across 180 countries. The workshop will include sessions on what is global selling, benefits of the program, how to start selling globally with step by step walk-through for registration. The workshop will be conducted between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There would be on the spot registration for participating in the event on a first come first serve basis from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the venue.

Amazon to conduct Global Selling training workshops for MSMEs in 11 Cities across India

Amazon Inks MoU with Government of Punjab to help drive Exports from the state through e-commerce

Amazon today released the second edition of its annual Export Digest, revealing a growth of 56% in the number of global sellers from India in 2018. Amazon Exports Digest in its second edition, reveals interesting insights and reflects significant increase in demand for Indian products across global marketplaces, growth of Indian exporters selling globally, and most popular and emerging product categories offered by Indian exporters abroad.

This year’s report also includes performance numbers about growth of Indian sellers exporting to Australia, a new marketplace for Indian sellers which was added as part of Global Selling Program in 2018. Amazon to enable Leather Exporters from Uttar Pradesh to go global
Over 1300 exporters from the state are already catering to customers worldwide through Amazon’s Global Selling Program

Agra, January 4, 2019: In line with its vision of transforming the way India buys & sells, Amazon today organized a training workshop to enable hundreds of leather exporters from Agra, Uttar Pradesh to leverage the growth of digital economy and expand their business, not just in India but also internationally through its Global Selling Program. The workshop, held as part of the Council of Leather Exports (CLE) Regional Export Awards event, felicitated top leather exporters from the state, including two Amazon Global Selling leather exporters. Uttar Pradesh is well known to be one of the largest producers of leather products. Delhi, March 14, 2018: Indian exporters on Amazon saw a massive 224% growth in their global exports business in 2017. Amazon's international marketplace saw a staggering rise of 500% in Indian products offered globally and 310% growth in Indian exporters using Amazon Global Fulfilment channel. Amazon Exports Digest 2017 was launched today at a joint event organized with FICCI on ‘Going Global through E-commerce Marketplace’, in the presence of Ms. Rita Teaotia, IAS, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Mr. Radha Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, Government of India. In its first edition, the Amazon Exports Digest 2017 insights reveal phenomenal increase in demand for Indian products abroad, growth of Indian exporters selling globally, and most popular product categories offered by Indian exporters abroad.

Amazon Exports Digest 2017 also features top Indian states & cities with international exporters and most popular product categories abroad. With exporters from 2047 pin-codes across India, Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leading states with most international exporters on Amazon. Home Décor, Tapestries, Home & Kitchen Linens, Dinnerware & Copper mugs, Ethnic wear and Women’s apparel witnessed a huge demand from international customers across ethnicities.

Year 2017 has been a milestone for the Amazon Global Selling program in India which has expanded exponentially with various partnerships with Government organizations and iconic India brands going global. Iconic Indian brands like Amul, Titan, Dabur and State Handlooms Bodies such as Tantuja and Jharcraft, have been launched globally along with over 32000 global exporters from India.

Exporters from India can now serve procurement needs of business customers across Amazon’s global marketplaces
